WHO WE ARE
The mission of the Solid Rock Family Church is to reach, teach, and equip people for the work of their ministry in the Kingdom of God. Our vision is a world of united believers in relationship with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
ABOUT THE SOLID ROCK
The Solid Rock Family Church was founded and built in 1975 by Pastor Gerald Metcalf. After Gerald passed away in 1988, his oldest son Justin Metcalf took over the role as Senior Pastor. Pastor Justin has been in this role ever since. We are not only a church but a family of believers in Jesus Christ.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe that there is only one true God and that our God is the eternal King, Creator, and Redeemer of all that exists. He is graceful, perfectly holy, just, all truthful, and He is LOVE. He is one being in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe that His greatest commandment is to love one another as HE has loved us, and that is what we intend to pursue.
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is God’s Anointed One, empowered by the Holy Spirit to inaugurate God’s kingdom on earth. He was crucified for our sins, died, was buried, resurrected, and ascended into heaven, and is now alive today in the presence of God the Father and in His people. His spirit lives within us. He is both "true God" and "true man” reigning above all else.
We believe that the victorious, and redemptive work of Jesus Christ who died on the cross for our sins provides freedom from the power of the enemy – sin, lies, sickness, and torment. He is our Healer, our Deliverer, and our Friend. And our God desires a relationship with each and every person in the world.
We believe in and teach from the Holy Bible. The Holy Bible is the foundation of our faith and everything that we believe in.
ABOUT OUR PASTOR
Justin Metcalf has been faithfully serving the Lord since he was only five years old when he experienced the outpouring of God in his life. God has birthed a movement of prayer and encouragement in Glenmont, NY that continues to grow today. Justin is passionate about providing a space for inclusivity, community, fellowship, and above all else wants to see the love of Jesus develop and take root in people's lives. For over 30 years, Pastor Justin has been the senior Pastor at the Solid Rock Family Church, and for over 30 years he has been married to his beautiful wife, Yvonne Metcalf. Together they have three beautiful daughters, Abigail, Hannah, and Madeleine.
